I’ve finished the work on Ashes to Ashes the book blurp is here:

It all started with a dead mouse. A kid in the hinterlands, not knowing any better, animated it in a misguided effort to use it to rid the grain of other, living mice eating up the town’s supplies. This led to their expulsion from the settlement, along with his mother and, for good measure the priest exiled himself as he ‘failed to guide members of his flock’. Now the town is left without its most valuable defender. Adding to the food woes a plague settled on the grains before the harvest and there will not be enough to eat. The necromancers seeing an opportunity sprang to the offensive to rid North America of its English colony. Or did they? Rumors abound that the diseases on the crops were a little too quick to spread, and the timing was a little too convenient. The necromancers are not united on their side of the conflict either, political machinations end only one way in their conflicts.

When it goes live on Amazon and other outlets I’ll post links from this blog or the ‘books’ section. I do still need to finish work on this website, the problem is I’m keen to be typing on the next work, ‘Outshined’ set in the Shiners series about ten years after the last book with a trio of shiners dealing with a Denver region problem. So far progress has been great on it and I’ve got that book up to 110 ‘pages’ in the last six weeks of work. I’m minding my ‘ABT’s, which is Always Be Typing, LOL, yeah, not really a great acronym, but it is a great habit if I want to keep putting books out.

Aging

“The universe is a cruel, uncaring void. The key to being happy isn’t a search for meaning. It’s to keep yourself busy with unimportant nonsense, and eventually, you’ll be dead.” ~ Mister Peanutbutter

Checking in

A boring status update.
I have been working on getting the website up a notch or two, there is always so much to learn about everything. Thankfully AI can do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to answering basic and not so basic questions.

Ashes to Ashes

“It is with great solemnity that I pronounce upon him, Paupertas Silvis.” There was an audible gasp from the crowd, Father Gregor de Jesuit smiled as the waves of it travelled out from him. Each row spreading the word to those farther back. A few cries of ‘No!’ were softly spoken against his sentence. The outdoor sanctuary didn’t have the best acoustics, and it took a few seconds for his words to be spread. He held up one hand, which trembled slightly, “Listen to me!” His voice raised to near shouting volume, “He shall not go alone. Much prayer and contemplation went into this and I pass on the judgement of the Lord, as is my place and dutiful responsibility.”

Outshined

The kid seeks Wally out. What is a super hero past his prime expected to do? Turn him in? Wally wasn’t that kind of a shiner, he’d hear him out first. Then, maybe, turn him in, if he could…

Loss

Everyone, if things go the way they are supposed to, loses their parents. I made some assumptions about my life, namely that I would be dead before my parents passed away and that goes for most of my friends too. I know, at the best of times, I only have […]
