I’ve been finding it hard to find time to write lately. When I have ‘free’ time it seems to turn into ‘me’ time. It feels like I get to the end of a day and have wasted another few hours of potential. It’s not just that either, there are so many good distractions and right now I am in need of distracting. At the end of the day I make choices and some days, weeks and months those choices are not the ones that lead me to happiness.

It seems like January has been a busy one, yet I've accomplished very little. I did a few words on TZC6 and some on Shine On, but not nearly as much as I had planned.  Planning versus life. I have heard tell when man makes plans, God laughs. Not I am one of the faithful, but I like the sentiment.

I am not making much progress on TZC6 this month, at least not as much as I wanted. I figure I'll come in closer to 12 thousand words than 30, which is a bummer, but December has always sucked for me, in terms of writing. I should have set a more modest goal. January I will keep the goal of writing 30,000 words again, less than a thousand a day and completely doable...if I don't get sidetracked. The holidays have always played havoc with my life, at least since I grew up.

I am trying to vet more user accounts as they show up here. Mostly I look for valid email addresses and usernames that aren't flagged by the spam filters, so if you want to log in so you can comment on here, you might try requesting an account again.

I will try and keep posting on Sunday and Thursday evenings from here on out. To that end Chapters 19 & 20 are up on TZC6 as of now. This morning's writing went good enough that I'm calling it a day and heading home to grill a few ribs and torment my granddaughters (as only grandparents know how!)

I have 18 chapters up as of today for TZC6. The heavy writing this month is a nice change from, oh, the rest of the years. What's worse  is this writing has stimulated more writing. Now I am flush with ideas of other books I want to write and will hopefully get around to one day. 

It looks like I'll just be posting chapters here. I have too many things going on right now to mess about with doing it another way. I'm up to Chapter 12 posted here now and I am trying to post at least three times a week.

Non-TZC6 news; I finished up the built in shelves in my kitchen.  This is a big deal for me. First all the bamboo flooring was a challenge, then so many other things have just come along demanding my time. Now I only have about four more weeks worth of renovations to complete before I can settle back in...just in time for the Holidays!

I was going to use Smashwords and just post the entire book at the end of each days writing, making it 'free' for the taking while I work on it. I still may do that, however it won't be until Saturday or Sunday at the earliest. So to keep things flowing I will be posting a chapter a day here until then. Tonight I posted Chapter 7.

No, not a status update where in I tell you all about what I've been doing lately. More of what the hell have I been doing? I have been on this earth 48 years, man! And where am I? I think I should pursue happiness more and the societal definition of success less. After all another 10 or 20 years and I'll probably be dead. Potentially 5/6ths of my life is already gone!
